Steve Ashley is the Youth Minister at Friendship Baptist Church. He is married to Samara (Sami) Ashley who is an RN. Sami is also involved in various youth ministries at Friendship along with leading worship. They have four children, Terek, Jernee, Hailey and Avery. Steve’s desire and calling has always been to serve the youth of Ashe County. He has coached youth sports since 1998, coaching wrestling, basketball and football.

In October of 2009 Steve says “While sitting in a revival service here at Friendship, God without a shadow of doubt called me to be a Youth Pastor. I am currently attending Liberty University, studying to receive my Bachelors Degree in Religion with a minor in Christian Counseling.”

“My desire is to see all of our youth grow closer to God and have a personal relationship with him. If you don’t have a home church, I invite you to come and join us our youth group is the place to really get connected to other students, build solid friendships, and be poured into by an adult mentor. Here is where you can find encouragement, prayer support, relevant truth and accountability for your walk with Jesus and for your relationships to others. If you aren't involved you are missing out!
